The bumblebee is not an underrated creature, we admit it. Over the last few years the popularity of the bee has increased dramatically, appearing on prints EVERYWHERE. They are the Brad Pitt of the animal kingdom. They feature here, however, for one reason and one reason only. They remind us of our granddad. So no, they’re not underrated, but as we also hope for the future of the real bumblebees, they’re here to stay.

There are more than 250 species of bumblebee, some getting up to 1.5 inches long and living for around a year. Now this species does not make honey, and does not die after it stings… but they do have a queen and they do dance a dance after a successful foraging trip. We believe this fact is the most important.

Darcy and Luna are just two guinea pigs, squeaking at their hooman, telling them they’re hungry…

Darcy and Luna Designs was born after I lost my two beloved guinea pigs. They were my friends when I was lonely, my entertainment when I was sad, my reason to get up when I just wanted to stay in bed. If this wasn’t reason enough, then the fact that guinea pigs are the most underrated pet is!

This made me think - what other underrated animals are out there? Darcy and Luna Designs is all about paying homage to those animals that are just as adorable as dogs, elephants, hedgehogs and donkeys, just a little more… alternative!
